Those of you following the email strings know that SB 1196 was passed and enacted in to law effective July 1. Harry Heist was good enough to provide the selected sections (attached) dealing with collection of rent by Condo/HOA associations.
The Condominium and Planned Unit Development Committee of the RPPTL Section has put together a subcommittee to study ways to fix issues created by the law, and many of you have expressed your concerns. Obviously, a major constituency of the member of that Committee are Condo/HOA Associations.
If you have interest in working on a subcommittee to give input and participate in discussions on specific changes to this law, please let me know as soon as you can, as I expect the Condo Committee to put forth proposed revisions for the September 24-25 RPPTL Section Executive Council meetings.
Thanks.
Neil
