There are a number of “schemes” that are spreading like wildfire throughout the US and Florida due to social media, “gurus” and the even increasing quest for FEES that the property manager is pocketing.
Some property managers of single family homes are charging a “credit contingency fee” which they keep for themselves.
This is a FEE, charged to the tenant, because the tenant’s credit is below par.
While I think it is perfectly legal to charge a higher security deposit for a tenant with bad credit, this one is disturbing. It is in addition to the higher deposit required.
I am willing to pay for advice from any top consumer/credit lawyers you may know and would welcome any of your input.
I have a few more “schemes” to tell you all about and they are very disturbing.
