[RPPTL LandTen] Address for Eviction

DA

If someone is renting a room in house, and you need to evict them for non-payment of rent, what address do you put in the complaint? The Sheriff won’t execute on the Writ of Possession unless it has a valid property address. But if you’re only evicting a person from one room, it doesn’t seem to make sense to put the entire house address.  Or is that what you would do and simply have the owner/plaintiff meet the Sheriff and direct the Sheriff to simply evict the person from the one room?

I've encountered this scenario in the past. The Sheriff however needs to be
able to identify the room, therefore in the notice, complaint, and writ you
have to include a description of the room. For example 123 Main Street Back
Room.

The Sheriff needs a specific address to serve and execute the writ.

Best regards,

I have done it with the entire house address and had the Owner meet the
Sheriff on execution of the Writ of Possession. However, in the Complaint,
I specified that the Defendant is only in possession of one room in the
home.

Thank you,
