Howdy friends! Cathy and I are so glad you are choosing to join us for our out-of-state Jackson Hole meeting. We have been working hard with Mary Ann to make the weekend extra special. I know for many of us it will be our first chance to get away since all this craziness started. Over the next couple of weeks, I’ll be providing more specific info on the meeting. Let's use this new listserv to communicate among the group. Feel free to shoot us any questions you have for the weekend.
A couple of you have reached out regarding social distancing. To be frank, my most significant concern at this point is getting you out there safely by plane and then getting you around safely by bus transportation. Our evening events in Jackson all have plenty of room inside and plenty of space outdoors. Our daytime outdoor activities will obviously have plenty of room. We are working with our bus companies to provide extra space and extra buses as we move to and fro. The only events which will require group transportation will be the wildlife safari on Thursday morning and the Yellowstone trip on Sunday. For the Diamond Cross Ranch dinner, we will be providing bus transportation to the venue with some fun surprises along the way. However, you are welcome to take your own vehicle to that event. You are also welcome to drive yourself to our optional tour locations (although bus transportation will be provided). Our group at this point is roughly 100 people, inclusive of spouse and family. Mary Ann and I have decided to keep it in this range rather than opening it up to committee members. We are going to require that all attendees wear face coverings when we are traveling together and participating in any indoor functions other than sit down dining. I’ll be bringing our new “fashionable” RPPTL gaiters and facemasks to the meeting.
It goes without saying but is incredibly important that we are all respectful of each other. If you have any symptoms such as fever, nausea, sudden loss of taste or smell, flu-like aches and pains, you should immediately disqualify yourself from any events and self-quarantine. In fact, I am going to be requesting that each attendee commit to the Attendee Health Attestation below each day of our trip. We will gladly provide you with a full refund if you are unable to attend. Please do not let disappointment or cost place any of our group at risk.
As for the Jackson area, there remains a mandatory face covering rule in place while indoors. There are also specific requirements for social distancing within restaurants and venues which are very similar to what we are experiencing in much of Florida. The current orders run through August 31. A list of the various restrictions in Teton County and Wyoming can be found at https://www.tetoncountywy.gov/2064/COVID-19-Health-Orders. There is no quarantine requirement for arriving guests.
Now on to the fun stuff... We are still planning to start things up on Wednesday night with a welcome reception and dinner "as you arrive" at the Handle Bar in the Four Seasons. The event starts at 6:30 pm. The dinner will be casual and food will remain available throughout the evening. I’ll be getting out there on Saturday night. If you are planning to head out early and would like to get together, please don’t hesitate to reach out. I have attached the meeting brochure so that you can plan your weekend. If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to reach out.
I can’t wait to see all of you out in Jackson. If you would like to add a spouse, friend, or family member coming with you to the listserv, please email me and I'll get them added.
See you soon!

All,
Since our Saturday night event in Jackson Hole is at a natural horsemanship ranch, I wanted to recommend to you the documentary “Buck”. It is about a natural horseman named Buck Brannaman, who was the consultant on the move, “The Horse Whisperer.” It is about much more than horse training, and it won the 2011 Sundance Film Festival’s US Documentary Competition Audience Award. It is available on Amazon. It’s perfect viewing for the plane ride – you won’t regret it.
