Adrienne, the Section recognizes the difficulties and expense of getting
to Tallahassee for an Executive Council meeting. However, the Section
tries to have an Executive Council meeting in Tallahassee at least once
every several years. That meeting is typically held in December or
January, so the Section can have some face time with the legislators,
agency heads and their respective staff right before start of the
legislative session. A number of the substantive committees of the
Section will be holding their Comm meetings in the State Capital
Building and various legislators, agency heads and staff will be
attending some of those meetings. The Section has been very successful
the past several years building a strong relationship with the
legislators, agencies and their staff and it is believed that having an
Executive Council meeting in Tallahassee once every several years helps
to further support that relationship. So there is some logic and
rational behind going to Tallahassee.
