Construction Law Committee Monthly Meeting -- August 10, 2026
Happy Saturday, CLC!
We will gather again by zoom on Monday, August 10, 2026. I will be traveling, so the ever-intrepid Brett Henson will be chairing the meeting. Thank you, Brett! Minutes from the last meeting and this month's agenda are attached.
We're getting back to "normal order" in a number of ways. First, we're back to our regular in-house monthly CLEs with Monday's being a presentation on ESI Discovery Disputes in arbitration and how to prevent them. Second, as summer winds up and we get near the re-commencement of the school year, those of us with kids still in school or who are educators or school officials are soon settling into that rhythm again too. And of course, that also means that college football starts again soon too. According to The Google, the very first college games this year are Thursday evening, August 27, with games between Mercyhurst and Youngstown State, and Maine at Towson both starting at 6:00 p.m., followed shortly thereafter by Chattanooga at West Georgia at 7 p.m. The Seminoles open on Friday 8/28 against New Mexico State at home; the Hurricanes open at Stanford on 9/4; and UF opens at home against Florida Atlantic the following evening after W&L's opening game that afternoon against Wittenberg University (no night games at Wilson Field) .
The RPPTL Executive Council will meet next week at the Breakers in Palm Beach, and we will again have a planning meeting for our subcommittee chairs and co/vice chairs on Friday. You've already seen emails from Jason Quintero about that. It's also the annual legislative update CLE.
Of interest at the Executive Council meeting will be the full EC vote on our CCNA/P3 Bills. I say "Bills" because we had to split out the public-records parts from the rest of the bill because those have to be considered separately by the EC. There were no substantive changes, just moving those parts to a separate bill, and adjusting the preface to account for that move.
