showing all events happening at the Convention as well as our the meeting
agenda packet containing the minutes from the Hammock Beach meeting as well
as our agenda. You don’t want to miss the update on COVID-19 caselaw cases
which is a continuation of the awesome presentation given by Kevin Rabin
and Jeffrey Hittleman. If you recall several cases were in pending status
and so this should be an interesting follow-up discussion. We will also
hear from Mark Brown about the attached legislative proposal to add a new
section 49.072, F.S. to allow service of process on unknown parties in
possession. It should be a packed but very informative meeting and most
importantly, we may be able to get another CLE credit for the follow up
presentation on COVID-19 cases.

Good afternoon RPPTL Members! It was so great to see so many of you
virtually and in person at our meetings at the Hammock Beach Golf & Spa
just last month. It’s hard to believe but our next set of meetings are
right around the corner. I am writing to personally invite each of you to
attend our Annual RPPTL Convention which begins in virtual format next week
on May 24 and 25 and then picks up again at the JW Marriott Marco Island
Resort from June 3-5, 2021. Attached is the Brochure which contains a
detailed schedule of the upcoming Committee Meetings.
At present, our onsite, in-person attendance is currently at capacity.
However, for those of you who haven’t yet registered in-person, we’d love
to see you again virtually! You can register for online attendance at
https://thefloridabar-aeifx.formstack.com/forms/2021rpptlconvention.
After you register, you will be provided with access to our online meeting
app as well as our Zoom links to the RPPTL Committee Meetings. The
meeting app allows access via your desktop as well as your smart phone to
all of the agenda materials and quick links to Zoom into the meetings. Attendance
at the Committee Meetings is open to everyone! Persons attending
virtually will be permitted to fully participate in all of our meetings.
The Committees provide a great way to get involved and see what we do best
as Section. If you have questions about the Committees, please don’t
hesitate to reach out to me or the Committee Chairs. We’d be more than
happy to assist. You can find a list our Committee and our Committee
Chairs, and information about each of the Committees, at our Section
website www.RPPTL.org.
Also, don’t forget to attend our events on Friday, June 4. On Friday
morning, we will host our Annual Convention CLE which is themed “The
Virtual Law Office”. What a perfect seminar for such an imperfect and
crazy year. This virtual and in-person seminar will cover topics from
organizing the virtual law office and handling virtual documentation to
virtual litigation, mediation and cybersecurity ethics tips. The three
hours of credit will include ethics and technology credits. You absolutely
won’t want to miss it.

At 11:30 am on Friday, you are invited to join us for our Annual
Membership Luncheon. We will be broadcasting live from the JW Marriott at
Marco Island. The luncheon will feature our Annual Business Meeting as
well as Florida Secretary of State Laurel Lee as our Keynote Speaker.
