Greetings to the Past Chairs!  Notwithstanding the statements below, we are planning to open early registration for you by next Friday (October 4th) afternoon.  This will give you one week to register before we open it up to the overall Executive Council.

Thanks as always.  Rob

Happy late Friday afternoon to all. This is the e-mail that you have been waiting for - we are ready to unveil the Amsterdam meeting!  First, before you do anything else, please click on this link - https://www.magisto.com/video/IhguUgldKVI9HTkPZjp_CXk - to see a great video that Mary Ann put together - it should get you very excited about the trip!  After you have watched the video, please see the attached Brochure, which provides the details of the meeting and schedule.  It is possible that some times may get adjusted, but the locations, tours and events are confirmed!

As you will note, we are including within the set fee the majority of your events, being:

  1. Welcome reception on Wednesday evening at the Hotel Okura;
  2. Trip to the Keukenhof tulip gardens on Thursday morning, together with lunch;
  3. Thursday evening reception and dinner at the Dutch West Indies House;
  4. Friday trip to The Hague for the Executive Council meeting and CLE program (spouses/guests will be able to choose from 2 tours while the meetings are occurring), followed by lunch and 3 museum tours in the afternoon;
  5. Friday evening reception at the Hotel Okura (dinner will be on your own);
  6. Saturday lunch at the Hotel Okura (in between the morning and afternoon excursions);
  7. Saturday evening gala reception and dinner at the National Maritime Museum; and
  8. Hospitality on Thursday and Friday evenings.

All transportation is included within the set.  Unfortunately, we are not able to provide separate pricing for each of the above.

The optional tours will be on Thursday afternoon, Saturday morning and Saturday afternoon (transportation is again included). Two important notes regarding the optional tours:

  1. It is possible that changes to the optional tours will need to be made as we get closer to our trip, but we will be working to minimize those changes.
  2. If a particular optional tour does not have a sufficient number of people signing up to justify the cost of the tour, we may need to move you to that same tour but at a different time or day - again, we will do our best to minimize inconvenience and change.

You will also see reference to a Saturday morning tour of the Anne Frank House - yes, I know that I beat into your heads that we could not get a group tour there, but lo and behold, we were able to make it work!  This tour is likely to sell out quickly, so we will still be incorporating the concept that I previously referenced, namely that if you are able to secure your own Anne Frank House tour tickets subsequent to event registration and produce them to our destination management company, they will refund your cost for the tour that you had signed up for and which your Anne Frank house tickets will be replacing.  More details on this will follow.

It is our plan to open the online registration portal (which is operated by our destination management company - it is not the Florida Bar's registration portal) for registrations on Friday, October 11th at 12:00 EDT - this gives you 2 weeks to digest this information and make your decisions about the optional tours.  If any delay becomes necessary as the registration website is being finalized, I will let you know as soon as I can.  When we open up registration, we will provide information as to the cancellation policies with the email that provides the link to the registration website.

As with our in-state programs this year, you will first register for the meeting events, and then you will receive a confirmation e-mail from our destination management company together with a link to book your room at the Hotel Okura (note that this will be by separate email).  Please remember that if you are staying at the Hotel Okura, your breakfast is included within the price of your room.

Because of the tremendous interest that has been shown so far by Executive Council members, you are limited to booking 1 room at the Okura. We will be monitoring the rooming list and will take action if necessary if more than one room is somehow booked within our room block. Also, again because of the tremendous interest shown, we are not opening this registration to non-Executive Council members of the RPPTL Section at this time. Accordingly, please do not forward this e-mail to non-Executive Council members; again, we will be monitoring the registrations and will have to cancel any improper registrations that are made in this regard. We are limited by cost, expense and the locations of our events, but if there is availability after sufficient time for sign-up by Executive Council members, we will open it to general Section members.

I hope you are as excited as Sheri and I are for this trip. We think that it will be an absolutely wonderful time . If you have any questions, please feel free to send an e-mail to rfreedman@carltonfields.commailto:rfreedman@carltonfields.com or mobos@floridabar.orgmailto:mobos@floridabar.org (do not reply to this e-mail, as it has been sent out through the listserv and will not make it to me or Mary Ann).

Thanks, and have a great weekend!

Regards, Rob
